  • LP « GOING UP » (USA [Modern Records/ Atco #MR38-130] 1980) The (slick) production, signed Jimmy Destri, compel the pop aficionado to have a couple of repeated listenings before some excellent tracks grow on him.

  • LP « WHERE ITS AT THE WIND » (USA [Cheft #Air 1001] 1982) The best description of this LP might be as three young boys, just dropped out of any Floridian college, trying to record the best party LP ever. Oh, just like the MC5 with "Back In The USA" (don't try to hear any trace of the Detroit sound though). A bit of Zombies or Merseybeat here, a touch of R&B and some Motown incursion there and a true teenage AM-radio traumatism everywhere. This LP was also sometimes compared to a cruder Big Star and that is certainly right [pierre]. One of my all-time favourite LPs [jon].

    Discography
  • EP 7" « Do Dead People Tan? » b/w « +2 » (USA [Edge] 1981) On Powerpearls vol.4. Good A-side even too much reminiscent of their UK contemporaries, ie too conformist by means of being part of the punk / new wave. No more Beatles, Elvis or Rolling Stones... oh, really ?
  • X DAVIS [Brooklyn, New York]

  • YIPES!! [USA]
    Discography
  • LP « YIPES!! » (USA [Millennium #BXL1-7745] 1978) Decent muscular powerpop in the vein of Off Broadway usa or Pezband. Not as good though.
  • 7" « Darlin' » b/w « Heartbreak Again » (USA [Millennium #YB-11791] 1980) Two-sided winners. A-side with a guitar-driven cover of Beach Boys' "Darlin'" proves that was a great powerpop song, if necessary. The flip is even better, owing quite a bit to the Raspberries' Anglo-pop.
  • YORKS [?, New York]
    Discography
  • 7" « Figure And A Face » b/w « Sleep » (USA [Little Hero] 1980) Great powerpop A-side that sounds like the Records, b-side not so hot.[idanw3]
